Those photos on the left are my first ever progress photos. 2 years ago and about 60 pounds down and man was I stoked. Nervous about taking these photos but was completely stoked with the progress that I achieved. I wish I took photos from the start of my journey but Ill take what I have and run with it. The photos on the right are from today, Im still in shock that all of those photos are me. Comin’ in bigger and better this round of races. 10lbs heavier, stronger, and faster. Been in a surplus for about 2.5 months now trying to push weight, gain strength, and build muscle. This is the last week before we start cutting down for August 25th... finally starting to understand the saying “You need to get uncomfortable to get comfortable”. This is the MOST I’ve ever weighed. Never weighed in above 150 before and not wanted to cry lol, but this is also the strongest I’ve ever been...girl on the left couldn’t back squat 185, front squat 155, do two pull ups, power clean 120, run 7 miles of stairs/trail runs, or hold an L Hang...girl on the right....well danggg that’s her warm up 😎

That proverbial (or literal) line drawn in the sand, from which everything else is measured. . To chart a course, you first need a point of reference. Once you know that, your path can be easily defined. (The actual journey may not be so simple 😉). . I hadn’t ran this course in quite a while. My old FitBit used to measure this as 6 miles (almost exact). Garmin is slightly different, but no matter. It’s the same length as before - the geography hasn’t changed. . Somewhere around mile 3, as I was switching my phone from one arm to another, it fell out of its pouch. The only way I realized it was when my Bluetooth earbuds stopped receiving a signal! Thankfully I found it - the phone fell right into the middle of the trail. . Had this not happened, I’m sure my pace per mile would be slightly better. 🤷‍♂️ Oh well. . Set your baseline. I wanted to let you guys know that I’m doing everything I can to help people to achieve their fitness goals. One thing I’ve been doing a lot on my Facebook especially is live videos. It’s a public profile so if you want you can go on and see that I posted a few videos this morning to talk about my strategy, the supplements I am using and have used not only for burning fat but for peak performance, endurance and recovery. I talked in the video about why I chose my supplements and about the specific research that I do to make sure I am using only the best supplements. I gave specific examples of stuff that I am using that helps me on a daily basis to do more explosive work more frequently than most people. I talked about how my strategy involves more explosive work and I tried to talk about some of the misconceptions that I believe go around in the fitness community about how much explosive work you can do. I’m gonna tell you straight if you want explosive results you have to do explosive work. I am able to recover quicker from explosive work which allows me to get more of it in each week then many people. Every day I’m getting a message on Instagram or Facebook about hey Brian can you make my workouts for me and can you make me an easy workout. I’m here to tell you that I don’t do that I make hard workouts and if I train somebody I might start them easier but then every day is going to get harder because that’s the only way that we get better. I talked in the videos about my nutrition and why I’m not really into moderation because I’m trying to be the best. Anyone else feel wildly uncomfortable when they work out on the “boys area” of the gym? The side with all the dumbbells and benches? I often feel violated when I can feel the eyes watching me during my sets. Sometimes I assume I’m being judged for my form, even though I know what I’m doing. I shouldn’t feel uncomfortable if I’m in my element, but there’s still that slight insecurity. . So girls, strong is the new skinny. We need more representation over by the weight rack. Boys, focus on your own workout please. Just because the weights I use aren’t as heavy as yours, doesn’t mean I can’t pack a punch.

Fact: Hundreds of thousands of people die/are hospitalized each year from elevated cholesterol related issues. Fact: Cholesterol is only found in animal tissue/byproducts. Question: Why eat in a way that encourages becoming another unfortunate statistic especially when the human body can naturally produce all the cholesterol it needs? 🤔 ____ People have asked me why I switched to #plantbased eating & why I am so adamant about it? ___ The long answer could lead to an hour+ conversation so I usually just give the short answer: Based on the scientific research/evidence & educational documentaries out there as well as personal experiences in removing animal products from my diet, the drawbacks to eating animals (particularly the health & environmental implications) far outweigh the benefits. ___ Ive always been open to discussing the data Ive found & how Ive transitioned my diet but I rarely full-on debate this topic with people. Why? Because I realize that eating meat is literally a religion for some people and its unfathomable, in their eyes, to step away from it or even entertain stepping away from it, regardless of what research/evidence/insight is provided. Hell, there are people who still choose to smoke cigarettes even with the health warnings written on the box. 🤷🏾‍♂️ __ I cant force people to change...but I can try to help them take a step back, question some things objectively & rethink/reconsider any preconceived notions of how important/necessary consuming animals really is. It is a process that doesnt happen overnight. It took me close to a year. With that said, there are people who are slowing realizing that something is off with what they have been told/led to believe regarding how essential eating animal products is to being healthy & they are looking for some perspective, a point of reference. I share these posts for them. 👊🏾 ___ But it tastes so goood! Youre missing out! I ate meat/animal byproducts for 30+ years. I know what it tastes like... and the only things I am missing out on is cholesterol, antibiotics, hormones, unnecessary animal slaughtering & other things I can happily live without. Im good.

Okay, so a lot of people have asked me about my core workouts, so I thought I’d share my favorites, but I have a few things to point out. • To get the six pack look it’s mostly about the food you put in your body, you can have a strong core and not have a six pack that shows 👈🏽 • I literally only go to core class liiiikkke 2-3 times a month, bc my strength training engages my core a ton • I’ve literally had a strong core and a “six pack” since I was in high school (sorry I know that’s annoying, don’t worry I’m sure when I have kids it will all catch up to me) • everyone’s body reacts to things differently so I’m sharing the core workouts that have worked for me, but not necessarily other people...either way they burn 🔥 • . .
