Squatober challenge Day 20. 31 squats, 31 varieties in 31 days. Adding variety not only keeps our bodies engaged, but our brains as well. This actually can mean greater calorie burn and gains. Variety keeps our body more resilient to the crazy unpredictable nature of life. Means we can adapt more when life gets craxy or we get fatigued. Today is a squat with a rotation to one side ( make sure you do the other side!). I love this because my sweet little trainer next to me came up with this one. I was done for the day, but he wanted to create more. He already sees the ability to be creative with movement. My hamstring was bugging me and I wanted to quit, but he begged me for one more. And you know what, the twist was just what my hammy needed apparently because it feels fine now! STUDIUM + SPORT = VEREINBAR⁉️ Disziplin ist gefordert und zwar durchgehend bis zum Abschluss! Dafür steht man danach nicht vor der Frage, wie es nach der Sport-Karriere weitergehen soll. Ich studiere bei der Hochschule der Polizei in Rheinland-Pfalz und trainiere neben dem Unialltag täglich. An Freizeit ist also kaum zu denken. Viele sehen das als enorme Doppelbelastung. Für mich ist der Sport keine Belastung, sondern ein Ausgleich, um den Kopf freizubekommen und abzuschalten. Gewichtheben bereitet mich vor allem mental auf meinen Beruf vor. Aus diesem Grund ist es überhaupt möglich, das Studium mit dem Sport zu kombinieren. Das ist zwar mit sehr viel Aufwand und persönlichem Ehrgeiz verbunden, funktioniert aber dank Unterstützung sehr gut. Man muss einen Weg für sich persönlich finden, mit dem man zum Ziel kommt. Whoooooop, whoooooop - i finished run 2 (out of 3) of Sägerserie trail run series 🏃🏼‍♀️🏅🏆💪🍁🍃 this time: 4 rounds, 15,4 km in total, one round more than 2 weeks ago. Im impressed that I kept my pace up during the race, only got a little slower with every round (total 1 hour, 25 min, 33 sec, first kilometer 5:18 min, last kilometer 5:34 min despite those craaaaaaazy hills ⛰⛰⛰). LUNCHTIME EATS🍴 It’s been a hot minute since I shared a meal on an actual plate with you; but, with the luxury of eating lunch at home today {😱}, I thought I’d give ya an insight👏🏼 ___ 100g prawns, 30g (dry weight) basmati rice mixed with cauliflower for zeee volume and a handful of green beans cos.. well.. greens🌱 I season my rice with garlic granules, sprinkle my meat with Cajun seasoning and then use the @skinnyfoodco sweet chilli sauce for some extra flaaaavour🔥 ___ Rest day for me today which means slightly lower carbs. On a training day I’d have the same thing (aka 100g lean meat with veg), but with 50g rice 🍚

⭐️Accidental 5K PB ⭐️ My 5K time isn’t something I know offhand (in the way I know the milliseconds of my marathon time 🙄) so it took me a while to confirm that this was in fact my 5K PB time - officially 23.20 at @parkrunuk ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’ve had a crisis of confidence this week in terms of both my running ability (and placement - check out my life update blog to read more). But this morning’s run coupled with some wise words from @triandrungirl and motivational posts from @run_rhandi_run have reminded me that I have come sooo far from that first 4.54 marathon and I have 16 weeks to get into the best shape of my life. I know exactly how I got here. I can’t believe that after all of these years I found the system that works. The system that actually, transformed every aspect of my life.
