BEHOLD! The ugliest goddamn set of front squats you’ll probably see this week. This was preceded by 3x5 deficit deadlifts at 80%, which is roughly 270lbs for me (didn’t get that on video because I forget to do that a lot). One thing I should mention is that I don’t have an exact idea what my 1RM is in most of my lifts, I used an online calculator and the numbers I got seemed right so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Back to these god awful front squats. This was my 3rd set and I got a little too happy with my depth in the set before it. Bad move. The result of that is this atrocity you see before you. It’s made even worse by the fact that I was only using 60%, around 160lbs. Still powered through and kept (decently) upright so I’ll chalk that up as a half win. The 100 calorie row at the end of this session sucked in the worst kind of way, still feeling that several hours later. #powerlifting #fitness #fit #squats #frontsquat #rowing #rowingmachine #lifting

Was asked why I pause for so long during these. “Because I hate myself” seemed the only appropriate response at first. Fortunately, I was able to come up with something else. Top set at 1 x 140 lbs.

These went so much better than I anticipated, don’t get me wrong 195 pounds is a lot to pause for 5 reps but it felt super quick! Sometimes it’s just getting into the right mind set for a day at the gym to go well! 🤷🏼‍♀️👏🏻😝 also they restocked these shorts on the @fleoshorts website 😝

315 for an easy daily min. high box front squat. • Longer post: Havent posted much lower body work lately, because the truth is, after coming back from Cuba, I got a little greedy squatting and tweaked my back a little. So, Ive been doing more boring (but important) stability-based lower body work. However, today I felt pretty good, so I decided to do some front squats with restricted depth. More than anything, I just wanted to get some decent weight onto my shoulders, in my front rack. My plan was to hit 225 and call it, but as you can see from the video, even 315 was flying. Called it there though, cause the last time I got greedy...well.....

Fridaaaaay: Bear Complex 7-7-7-7-7 of power clean, front squat, push press, back squat & push press. It was my first time that I’ve done the bear complex and my shoulders were wrecked, it was fun but boy was it hard for the last set. My heaviest lift was 25kg, I could have possibly gone a little bit heavier but That will be for next time, because 25kg got heavy pretty quickly.

After competing at the National Championships in May, Nicole has been working through a hip injury that has prevented her from squatting to below parallel. Yesterday she was able to go through full range of motion pain-free! Multiple national competitions, weight cuts, and some very intensive training have taken its toll on her body. She has continued to receive chiropractic care from @weightlifting_doc, trained in flat met-con shoes (to increase ankle mobility), and adapted her training to pain free movements. If you find yourself injured it is important to find a healthcare practitioner you trust and continue to train as normal as possible while moving through a pain free range of motion. Do not underestimate how mentally taxing an injury will become. You’ll most likely feel frustrated and question why you started lifting in the first place.
